Bien que Google Maps soit devenue une application de navigation phare, certaines fonctionnalités ne sont pas encore prises en charge dans le territoire français.
En réalité, c’est l’article R. 413-15 du Code de la route qui interdit l’utilisation d’une application de navigation ayant la capacité de détecter les radars en France.
Et c’est là que Waze tire son épingle du jeu. Au lieu d’utiliser le terme « détection de radars », elle propose « zones des vigilances » ou « zones de contrôles ».
Ainsi, les utilisateurs peuvent activer l’option détection de radars malgré les restrictions de l’article R. 413-15.
Mais Google Maps n’a pas adopté cette approche. Il faudra alors recourir à des applications tierces pour détecter les zones de contrôles.
Il y a une explication à cette décision. Selon Google, Maps est plutôt une application d’exploration et de navigation, et non un outil de détection des points de contrôle.
